Sunday Funday

In our not too distant past, Sunday Funday consisted of jaunts to our favorite outdoor patios to sip vodka cocktails.  Today, Sunday Funday was Henry's first walk to the Farmer's Market. And I wouldn't trade it for all of the vodka cocktails in the world!

Highland Village Farmer's Market Quick Review:  In the past, we have frequented the Urban Harvest Farmer's Market  which sets up shop on Saturdays between Richmond and West Alabama.   For those who have never  been and are up early on Saturday morning, I absolutely recommend a visit to peruse all of the farm fresh treats and grab some fresh veggies to cook up for a  weekend farm to table feast.  I am always amazed at the difference in appearance between the fruits and veggies you buy in the grocery store, versus from the farmer's market.  It's a scary realization of how modified/enhanced our store bought produce can be.

Because we are usually Farmer's Marketed out by Sunday, we had never stopped by the Highland Village Farmer's Market until today.  Now with Henry, our big outing is typically our morning walk, and today we thought we'd spice things up with a jaunt over to this Farmer's Market.  It's very different than the Urban Harvest market- far less fresh produce/dairy/meat and far more fresh prepared meals, pastries,  and coffees.  They have picnic tables and live music for you to sit and enjoy your breakfast.  We definitely plan on going back next weekend and grabbing some snacks.  And by snacks, I mean Marty is convinced we need to purchase an entire grass fed cow.
